  Engine 18 was the first Chicago Fire Department company organized after the Great Chicago Fire.of 1871.Companies currently stationed at Engine 18's quarters are
 Engine 18, Ambulance 84, Deputy District 1, EMS Field Chief 4-5-7, and High Rise Rig 6-4-16.
Engine 18 proudly serves the rich Chicago neighborhoods of
Pilsen, University Village, the Medical District and Taylor Street.

                                                             

 In 2012 NBC studios launched a cutting edge show titled Chicago Fire.  The home of Engine 18 (Station 51) serves as a consistent filming location for the show.  Many know Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Battalion 23 and Ambulance 61 from watching the show.
